Mariah Carey and rapper Nick Cannon have tied the knot in a "very impulsive" ceremony in the Bahamas, it was reported Thursday.

Who even knew these two were dating? Definitely not me. I didn't even believe the news when i heard it. I read an article that says they met in March when Nick was directing the video for Mariahs BRAND NEW single "Bye Bye." Which mean they were ating for about a month? Mariahs 38 and Nicks 27. I think its just a publicity stunt. I give it five months, tops.

In my opinion, high school should provide day-care service for teenage parents. A big percent of abortions happen because teenagers know having a baby will "ruin their lives" because they will have to drop out of school. If the teenage parent has nobody helping them with the child its very hard to find a consistent babysitter. By high schools providing day care its giving the teenage parent a chance at keeping their life in order and staying in school.

I would definitely stop making people swear on the bible in the court room. Religion isn't as important to people as it used to be. There are so many people that don't believe in god and could care less about the bible so swearing on it means nothing to them. Also, people that DO believe in god are still swearing on the bible and lying. In my opinion, its just pointless because people are going to lie to keep themselves out of trouble no matter what.

I think my personal situation is perfect. I was an only child for twelve years of my life so of course, like almost all only children, i was spoiled. I got anything and everything i wanted for those twelve years. Then my mom had a baby [Nick who is now 9] and thhhhen she had Christopher who is now 2. I know its weird, my mom having kids at her age but i think it will benefit for me when i get older. Its good to have a lot of family because you know someone always has your back and you can always go to your siblings for that. Also, when we all move out and have our own families it makes holidays that much better having alot of people to get together with who mean so much to you.

I definitely agree. We just got done talking about this subject in class. Its come to a point where people are relying on computers for everything. From homework, to shopping, to even ordering pizza. I cant even really criticize anyone for being on the computer for hours, because i am guilty myself. Not so much in the summer but in times like the winter, i can spend hours sitting on the computer just clicking around. Ive never really bought anything from the computer but i am also guilty of online banking. Its so much easier to just click a couple times then to fill out a check or go get a money order to pay bills. =]

ENGL 152?

So, ENGL 151's - are you ready for ENGL 152? Is there anything you'd like to know specifically about what the next class will entail? And what would you like to work on to prep you for the next round?

I'm actually just focusing on getting a certificate for right now, which doesn't require a ENGL 152 class. So personally, I'm just trying to get through this class as painless as possible. I might choose to come back to school later and focus on an associates degree [which i know is a stupid idea] but I'm still confused about what i want to do.

Should all college students be required to buy or rent a computer? Why or why not?

Definitely not. Most colleges, even O.C.C ;) have a computer lab with hours posted of when its not in use for students convenience. Most families in America have a computer in their homes now-a-days, but if not, Students are already spending enough money on tuition and books. Computers are not a cheap thing to buy which is why the labs in the colleges are offered. Even if there wasn't labs, students could always drive to their local library and complete any work assigned, without buying their own computers.

What do you think would be the consequences of the legalization of marijuana? Explain.

There would definitely be more high school students dropping out of school. Marijuana cant kill anyone but when teenagers are getting high they care about things alot less. Theres already enough people getting high everyday, and MOST [not all] of those people have no goals in life and don't end up moving on to college. I personally have a few friends that have dropped out of high school and wake up to "wake and bake." Nothing good could come out of legalizing pot, its already bad enough.

I had a great relationship with my junior & senior year art teacher, Mrs. Swenson. We got along so good because shes the most understanding person I've ever met. I could tell her my whole life story and she wouldn't judge me for one minute. She helps as many people as she can, and she the type of person where you just know shes sincere. She does more then just listens, she actually cares and helps anyone with anything!

No, i think a week is more then enough time. I usually hand in my papers on time, but this past weekend was my birthday so i forgot about doing my paper. That's my own fault. And i agree that people are probably handing in their papers late because they know how nice you are about it and they take advantage. The fact of the weather getting so nice is another huge distraction. Most students, including myself, need to realize that its our own grades we are effecting and start doing a better job of getting them in on time.

What changes might occur if gasoline prices rose to $5.00 a gallon? Discuss.

I think things could go two ways. I think various stores would definitely stop racking in so much money. People would be spending ALL their money on gas that they would be spending less money in places like retail or grocery stores. OR, people may take up actually walking or taking a bike to places nearby. Another consequence of raising the gas price that high could also just make people STAY HOME instead of going out as much.

What are you thinking about the newest assignment? You finally get to pick your own "topic" within the larger structure of the essays - yay! Do you think it'll be easier to write than the last few?

I think it will be alot easier to write this essay. When we have one specific topic its sometimes hard to reach 700 words if your not interested in the topic. When we are given such a wide variety we can write about something were interested in, or know alot about. When your writing about a topic you pick theres no excuse to not be able to complete a full essay.

C0llEGE STUDENTS

Discuss some of the pressures on college students.

This is an easy topic question for me because i stress out about everything. A college student is usually going to college to further their career and they want to get their classes finished as soon as possible. Because of this, some students are taking as many as 6 classes. Students, like myself, also have alot of bills to pay including car payments, insurance payments, credit bills, and maybe even their own rent. This means they have to juggle a part time job and a bunch of classes while still trying to make time for homework and friends. I cant complain too much because i have my family to help me out, but in general its not easy being a college student.

What are the positive and/or negative effects of teenagers and young adults "surfing the net?" Discuss.

There are many positives to teenagers surfing the net. When a school assignment is assigned its so easy for a teen to take the topic and research everything at the click of a finger. Also, teens that dont have much time on their hands to shop and they have the option to do this quickly and easily online. The downfalls of teenagers surfing the net are things like hackers. If you have all your information on the computer it may not be too hard for someone to get access to all of those things. Most pages are good at keeping all your personal information secure but you never know what can happen. Another downfall is on pages like myspace, people can pose to be anyone in the world, teenagers have to be more careful about who they are talking to on the web.

Would you rather take one longer vacation during the year or several shorter ones? Discuss.

I would definitely rather take one longer vacation. Its more likely that if your going away for a longer time you can go somewhere like Jamaica or somewhere further away because you don't just go to a Caribbean for a short time. In February my family and I went to Florida as our vacation and we originally only booked the hotel for four days. After being there we decided to extend the vacation an extra four days because we were having too much of a good time. When you are finally able to get away you might as well enjoy it for the longest time possible.

Why do Americans eat so much junk food? Explain.
There are several reasons why Americans eat so much junk food. For one, the most obvious, is because unhealthy food tastes the best. Secondly, alot of people like myself are working and taking classes so theres not much time to sit home and eat, or be home for dinner. On Tuesdays for example, I go to school from 9:30 - 2 and then i have work from 6 - 12. I don't really have time to worry about eating, so ill just stop at a fast food place in between. Another reason Americans could be alcohol. Even people on diets eat like slobs when they've got a little alcohol in them =]

Should all college courses be specifically related to a future occupation? Explain why or why not.


No. Students are paying for their education and they should be able to choose what they want to know more about. If a person is going to school for teaching and they want to take a class about graphic design or something out of the blue, its completely their choice. Its recommended that you stay to your major just so you can get through college and start your career but maybe all college students are in a huge rush. The returning student, in particular, who may already have a career and a family but wish to take a class or two just because is perfectly fine.

Explain why you would or would not want to live in a large city.

I would absolutely love to live in a large city. I actually really want to live in Manhattan when i get older. There are alot of disadvantages such as terrorist, the transportation and the gangs, but there are alot of advantages also. I absolutely love being at Times Square. New York is the city that never sleeps and theres always something to do. Just seeing the people that are walking the streets is enough to change your life, and make you consider how much your taking everything you have for advantage. The clothing stores, and the night clubs there are amazing and alot of people can start off their real careers living there. Celebrities go to big cities all the time and whenever i go to New York i feel like I'm in a whole different world. Theres also a STARBUCKS on every corner =] =]

The fiscal year ends in March for most Japanese companies, which means alot of things go on sale in April like TVs, cookware, vacuums, and other appliances. Most companies are bringing in their new models of everything so they are trying to get rid of all the old. This is a good time to go out and buy the new cookware because the weather is getting nicer and people start having barbecues. Vacuums and Televisions are a very good thing to buy when they're on sale since they're usually so expensive.

Britney's little sister Jamie Lynn is starting to show her baby bump. Jamie was the star of a show called Zoey 101 on Nickelodeon. She is only sixteen years old and keeping the child. What kind of message does this send out for smaller kids watching the show? I don't know if Jamie is crying out for attention but she is definitely a bad role model. Shes taking right after her sister, Britney. Supposedly her 'baby daddy' had to confess to her recently that he had cheated on her and got another girl pregnant. But who really knows the truth now a days with all the different paparazzi's lies.

Mariah Carey is up to her 18th Chart topper at number 1. She has actually out beat Elvis Presley for the most songs in the number 1 spot and she is only second to the Beatles. Her most recent hit is called Touch my Body. She only needs three more songs to pass the Beatles. Ive loved Mariah from back when she had to album 'fantasy.' I definitely think she will be able to make three more number one hits before she retires. Her new album is coming out April 16th. In my opinion, her songs are all hitting number one because they're easy to relate to, and she still has an amazing voice after all these years. Y

David Cook from American Idol was rushed to the hospital last night after feeling heart palpitations on stage during the show. He was only there for a short while. They treated him for high blood pressure, and then he was released. They are saying he is doing fine now which is a relief because i think hes been singing really good on the show. I looked at the American Idol message boards and people are loving both him and David Archeletta. TMZ is saying the high blood pressure may be caused by his constant worrying about his brother who is battling cancer. It would be a shame to have to leave the show now that hes so close and so good.



Anyway, I'm off to work til 9. I finally have a day free from school AND work tomorrow! yayyyyyyyy. =]

There are alot of jobs that aren't going to be around anymore in the next couple years. The economy has been getting worse and its harder for people to find jobs. Jobs like telemarketers, radio and television announcers, floral designers and Pharmacy aides are cutting back on their workers. Technology is growing so much that its starting to run the world. Companies are starting to use machines to do all these things for them because though the machines may cost alot, they will make less flaws then someone doing it by hand. In a couple years, I'm scared there wont be work for anyone. If we have computers and machines doing everything for us nobody is going to make money which leads to many businesses going out of business.

P.S - HAPPY APRIL FOOLS DAY, i was actually really surprised prof. lauro didn't play a joke on us in class ;)

CAR CRASH =[

A teenager died yesterday in a car crash in Manchester. The teen was driving a '98 Saturn and apparently lost control going around a bend, and hit a bunch of tree. The seventeen year old was pronounced dead at the scene. Some people are saying there was probably alcohol or drugs involved. The seventeen year old passenger was injured bad, but is now in stable condition at Jersey Shore University Medical Center in Neptune. In my opinion, the driver was probably just showing off trying to speed around the bend, maybe because of the alcohol. This is the exact reason why state officials are trying to make teenagers but the bumper stickers on their cars that informs everyone else that they are inexperienced. Its sad it had to end up in a death.

Eighth Assignment

Are we just having a veeeery long run of bad luck? Or are we actually electing the people who truly represent us? They say "absolute power corrupts absolutely," but who's being corrupted: the politicians, or the people?

I don't have much to say in the political race against one another. I was never into politics at all. But to answer your question I don't think our president completely represents us. First of all we cant pick anyone we want to be represented by, we have to pick someone that is verrrry wealthy and the people who are running are sometimes people we don't even like. We just have to settle on the few amount of people that are actually running for office. I think the people are being corrupted.

Happy Easter!

My family used to all get together for Easter for a huge dinner, but this year its only me, my mom, step dad, and two little brothers. I woke up to an Easter basket that my mom insists on making me like I'm still 9 years old but i cant complain. =]

I finally started my new job on Friday. I'm working at a tanning salon and hopefully ill be able to save enough money to go to bartending school.

I need to clean my room now because its a disaster. I didn't realize how hard it would be for me for have a job, go to school, keep my room clean and find time for my friends I'm horrible at managing my time.

YAY!

My day is AMAZING today so far. That's not something I've been able to say for a while now. I woke up at 6:30 [which is something i never do] to get ready for an interview. Everything went perfect and i got hired on the spot. I FINALLY HAVE A JOB starting tomorrow =]

Danity Kanes album came out two days ago which i love.

My birthday is coming up in April and i cant wait.

My tooth is finally feeling better and the weathers not too bad out today either so I'm hoping nothing happens tonight that will ruin my day.

I do need to start working on my project though because I've been bed ridden for about 3 days so i haven't even been thinking about it. Just thought i should write in here before i got startedddddd.

SPRiNG BREAK!

"What did you do over your break?"

I didn't do anything special for spring break this year, i was actually in bed for most of it. I did end up going to the St. Patricks day parade which was a good time, But my tooth starting hurting about 2 days ago so I went to the dentist. It turns out i either need a route canal in one of my molar teeth or I need to get it taken out. Its so bad my whole face has been swollen for about 2 days now. They gave me heavy medication so I've basically been sleeping alot. I even missed one of my best friends birthday dinners. =[

But, Ive also been taking antibiotics so its a little better today. Hopefully the swelling will go down tomorrow because i finally got a job interview. I guess well see what happens.

PARiS REAliTY?

Paris Hilton is getting her own reality show on MTV. She searching for a new "best friend." I cant believe the shows that MTV has been coming out with lately, its getting a little ridiculous. Paris said

"I'm looking for someone with loyalty and integrity that won't stab me in the back like so many do in this town, I want someone who will be like my sister; she really is my best friend."

Like i said in one of my older blogs i don't have anything against Paris but nobody is going out to see her movies so why would anyone watch a t.v show about her desperately trying to find a friend? The only thing anyone really wanted to buy was her sex video which is pathetic. She should stop trying to put out books, movies, song albums, and t.v shows because nothing is selling too well for her.

7th ASSiGNMENT

The first half of English class went by fast.I like being in this class because we talk about the readings out loud and Professor Lauro makes sure everyone understands what is going on before assigning homework. Its different from other classes because our teacher is always cracking us up while still getting our work done. It makes everything go alot easier.

The thing I would change about the class is those questions we had to do which follow each story. They're worded all weird and they were hard for me to answer. I personally would rather write five essays rather then answer those confusing questions. I wouldn't be mad if i never had to look at them again ;)

I wouldn't change anything else. I don't mind reading at home, or talking about how we feel about the stories in class. I love projects like posters, and I don't so much mind writing essays.

The blog is a new thing for me and I like that it adds in for our grades. I'm on the computer all the time so its not an inconvenience. Ive been writing in it almost everyday and its just a way to discuss the way we feel about certain things like events that are going on or just the way our days went. I think more professors should start using blogger.

The movie Hitch is my favorite movie of all time. I think Will Smith is a good actor and Kevin James is hilarious. The movie is about a man (a date doctor) that helps guys get girls who really want to be with girls. He doesn't work with men that are only out to get some. My favorite quotes from the movie are

Should animals be used in medical research?

Id hate to say it but i think medical research on animals is okay. If they're saving peoples lives by what is tested on animals then its something that needs to be done. On the other hand testing animals for stupid things like cosmetics or anything that cant save a human life is ridiculous. When it comes down to it and someone you know is really sick no one would pick an animals life over a loved one.

DRUG TESTS.

Should employers have the right to drug test their employees?

I definitely think employers should have the right to drug test their employees. If someone is smoking weed or doing another kind of drug they might not show up for work, or even worse come to work messed up. They wont perform their job to the best of their ability.

By the way I had an awesome weekend. I went to hibachi for the first time and had so much fun. You can see how much our chef liked us by this picture ;)

STRiKE

Should gov't employees such as fire fighters and police officers have the right to strike?

My opinion is NO. If police officers and fire fighters weren't around the world would be chaos. When filling one of these occupations you should know that it is illegal to strike so it shouldn't even be thought about. Its their job to keep people safe.

Once criminals caught wind of Police officers going on strike they would just plan their crimes to take place when they are striking.

As for firefighters i know from experience someone in my family could have been dead if firefighters were on strike. I had a house fire and by the firefighters putting it out i got to save at least some of my things.
Or lets say a huge forest fire broke out.. a whole town could be destroyed just because firefighters want to be paid more?

Hopefully the government would be about to work something out before firefighters and police even tried to go on strike.

A bomb went of right in Times Square this morning at around 3:30 am. A man on a bicycle supposedly got off his bike, walked away for about a minute, returned to his bike and left. A few minutes later there was an explosion which shook buildings up to four blocks away. Nobody got hurt but it shattered the glass of the military recruiting station. Some people are seeing this is a statement, maybe someone has something against the military or George Bush and other are seeing it as a form of terrorism.

I just think its scary someone can ride up to somewhere on a bike, especially in New York, and just bomb something like its nothing. Ive always wanted to move to New York but its becoming less appealing everyday. Here is a picture i found of the damage....

Last Thursday, a gas station that i go to on a regular basis was robbed. The 'Hess' station in Bayville at Route 9 and Stanton Avenue.
"The man brandished the handgun but did not use it to hurt the attendant" Stoker said. I have a friend that lives on Stanton avenue and its scary to know that someone that a rob a store was walking around that neighborhood with a gun. They still haven't found the guy yet but they describe him as a white male, about 5 feet 8 inches tall, wearing a dark hoodie and pants with a white bandanna over his face from the nose down.

I think its pathetic to to rob someone trying to make a living pumping gas in ice cold weather but some people are ridiculous.

UlTiMATE D0ME

I just finished the rough draft of my essay due on Friday. I found this essay ALOT easier then the last one we had to write. It was pretty hard for me to make it to 700 words about the Identity of America and how other people view us.. i guess because i wasn't interested in the topic at all. Anythings hard for me to write about that i don't have interest in, or don't really know anything about.

My group and I came up with plenty of different rules for our community which made it easy to write about without dragging anything out. Sometimes I surprise myself with the ideas I come up with when I'm writing. Anyway, I'm going ouuuuuuuut. ;)

Danity Kane is my favorite girl group right now. Each and every one of them can sing which is the most important thing. My favorite singer of the group is Aundrea. Their first album went platinum. I like every single song on their first album which is something i cant say about ANY other group.

I'm anticipating their new album which comes out on March 18Th! They also have a T.V show on MTV right now called making the band where they compete to finish their album before the other band and solo artist that Diddy put together.

I'm feeling somewhat accomplished. I faxed three resumes for secretarial jobs and filled out two applications for bartending jobs. Hopefully someone will call me back THIS WEEK.

Anyway, i started the rough draft of my essay i think its pretty humorous, hopefully ill do better on this paper then the last. My group came up with alot of rules which should make it easy to make it to 700 words.

I also just wanted to mention that I'm one of the people that watches "The Moment of Truth." I think its hilarious that someone would actually go on national television and completely ruin their marriage just for money. I think if you cheated on your husband and/or think you should be married to someone else and your willing to let the whole world that for money it doesn't just make you look pathetic, but very greedy.

SPEED liMiT?!

They dropped the speed limit yesterday from 65 mph to 55 between mileposts 80 and 100. They are saying the reason is because there has been so many deaths in this range.
I don't know how effective this approach will be considering the speed limit is normally 65 and people are doing 80 on a regular basis. They are supposedly building shoulders and guardrails.I don't necessarily agree with the speed reduction, I think the deaths may be caused more by crazy or drunk drivers. Maybe having more troopers out enforcing the law would have more of an impact.

People take the parkway to get places faster. Wont Lowering the speed limit just send people into road rage?

I'm desperately looking for a job. I'm really interested in bartending but i have no experience at all & i don't want to wait forever to go to bartending school. If anyone reading this knows of a place that will train me let me know ;)

Anyway, my moms been annoying me to make a resume so i finally got that done today. I'm looking into a receptionist job at a dental office or something. I had a job at New York & Company but retail is not for me.

Along with looking for a job today i started considering switching my major AGAIN. feels like i have a different major every other week. life is rouuuuuuuughh.

5TH ASSiGNMENT

My groups community is called "Ultimate Dome." Although almost everything in this town is unrealistic, its humorous and its basically the ultimate place to live. The best part about our town is that when you enter you get a credit card with money on it which gets credited a certain amount of money every month. School and work are both optional. You get kicked out of our dome (unless your part of our wonderful committee of course) =] when you turn 35 so its probably a good idea to get a job to save up some money for when you get THE BOOT. Don't think anyone can enter though, we have town meeting every month and accept certain people after they complete the IQ test.

My group had a good time working on this project and we agreed on mostly everything including our "city sections" and "weather rooms." Ill just mention that our dome is BOMB PROOF so haters can stop being jealous of our perfect lifestyle and DEAL WITH IT. hahaaha ;)

VACATi0N

I just got back from vacation last week and the only thing that really sucks about it is i missed two full days of school. I guess I have some kind of problem because once i start falling behind in a class i just give up. Its always been like that. I'm doing fine with English, besides the fact that i started my blog late ;) but my business class is stressing me out. I missed a bunch of things when i was gone but i tried to come home and do the project at home and it turns out i only have WORD 2007 on my computer which happens to be possible to use because they changed every aspect of it they possibly could. I'm convinced they did that just so i fail all my classes. Anyways, I'm off to my friends house to use her computer to get this stupid project done. =[ Y

MEDiAAA

My opinion on media is that they are giving Americans what they ask for. People everywhere love to see celebrities messing up. People of all ages gossip about the celebrity train wrecks like Britney, Lindsay, and Paris. My mom knows a lot of things that happen with these girls before i do because they're all over the news. People make fun of people like Paris because they think shes rich for no reason. I like Paris Hilton but ill admit i thought it was funny that she went to jail because she does drugs and drives around drunk thinking that shell never get in trouble just because of who she is. I buy magazines like "The Enquirer" because its funny reading about how celebrities aren't perfect.

iDENTi-KiT

For my identi-kit i chose to paste a picture of my head on a cheerleaders body. I started cheerleading and gymnastics when i was about six years old. In my hand is a huge NY Giants flag. I'm a big fan of the Giants and have been all of life because of my family. There is a picture of Lil Wayne on my identi-kit because, though it may come as a surprise to some, rap music is my favorite type of music and hes my favorite rapper. I put things like coach and uggs on here too because they are my favorite brands. Lastly, there is pictures of different eyeliners because I'm obsessed with make-up. I topped my identi-kit off with glitter because I'm still a little kid. haha. =]
